Tucked in behind the Beach House Decor store, at 325 Main Road, Hermanus, is where you'll find the very delectable, Dunnhouse Cafe (itself located on High Street). Beautifully decorated in an elegant French Country Style, this hidden gem offers an ambient and rustic place to dine. It is a romantically intimate eatery which is complemented by a beautiful al fresco dining space and open fire in the courtyard. The menu offers a fine range of vegetarian options, to the freshest seasonally caught fish, mouth-warming organic lamb cooked to your own required taste, deliciously prepared free range chicken ensambles, and glorious Illy coffee, to name a few...all made from only the freshess ingredients, hand picked daily by its owner.
Open for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake from Monday to Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm and "Twilight Dinners" on Thursday and Friday evenings, from 6:00pm til late. "Twilight Dinners" consist of divine themed three course dinners (which changes weekly), complete with fairy lights, candles, lanterns and gorgeous live music. Don't forget to book in advance!
Dunnhouse Cafe also sell freshly made breads, meringues, biscuits, mueslis, fudges, pasta sauces, chutneys, cordials, syryps, etc - all bottled, packaged and sold both at Dunnhouse Cafe itself and at the Beach House Decor store next door.
For those of you fancing a night in, a picnic hamper service is available, which can be delivered to your hotel, guesthouse or home!
